Planting an Apple Tree

By sammi at 02/12/09 10:23

Growing an apple tree would be a great reward. Well at least for me because I love apples. I thought I would share my tips on growing an apple tree.

The first thing you want to do is actually eat an apple. Yep, you get the seeds right from the apple. Then you want to lay the seeds out for a couple of days. You want to make sure there is absolutly no moisture in them at all. Now what you want to do is place the seeds in a damp paper towel and put them in the fridge. Leave the seeds in the fridge for about a week and check on them. By then the seeds should have sprouted.

Now your going to put those seeds in a cup of potting soil and water them everyday or the soil will get crumbly and you don't want that. Only one seed to a pot. Now you just keep caring forit for a little while and wait for some growth. Once you have a little apple seedling you want to moveit to a larger pot. Now you want to keep watering that as well. You do not want to add fertilizer!! You want all natural apples.

Once your apple tree has gotten big enough so that no one will step on it, you can transplant it to the outside. You want to make sure you don't cut any roots while doing so though. You want to plant it outside where it will be pretty but out of the way as well.

Now you let nature do its job. Once it's ibg enough you can stop waterng it. Now just enjoy your fruit.
