During the winter months some of us are busy planning out what we will do with our gardens this year. Then we get all anxious for the Spring to come and can't wait to start the garden. One thing that I always do to keep myself busy in the winter is to have an herb garden in my home.
When most people think of planting herbs in your home they think about having a long flower pot in front of the window. Thats not always the case. You can put an herb garden anywhere in your home. Just make sure you have ample sunlight. You also want to make sure you have it where your kids or animals won't be able to get to it.
When having an indoor herb garden you always want to do some research on the plants your using in it. You need to know how some plants grow because some grow larger than others and you want to make sure your herb garden will be big enough to hold the plants.
You also want to make sure you can put herbs close to other herbs. For example, if you put an oregano plant next to a peppermint plant, you will have one plant that smells like both oregano and peppermint. Having an herb garden in your home will be fun for you and keep you busy until you can go outside and plant your garden in the Spring!
